We worked on the design and construction phases of this project whilst in a previous role*. Terraces and steps form a new piece of public realm adjacent to a new office building on St Vincent Street, Glasgow. The design process was challenging as we needed to create useable and attractive space bounded by major infrastructure and large scale buildings. Terraces and steps negotiate the level changes and a soft landscape scheme softens the space, creating a coherent terraced landscape that traverses a 10m level change. A feature wall located at the foot of the steps highlights the entrance to the space.
