We have been appointed by NHS Lothian Charity to redesign an exisiting courtyard at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

This courtyard is to be a multi functional space, for use by ICU patients, Stroke ward patients and by the MAC group (Meaningful Activities Group).

Part of the commission has been to consult extensively with staff and patients to ensure that the design develops sensitively to their needs. This combined with our site analysis, has led us to a design that works with the existing infrastructure to create a varied range of spaces that can be used simultaneously by various groups. Each space is focussed around an activity and has built in flexibility.
