We have been appointed as landscape architects for the design of the grounds of this new build high quality care home in the heart of East Lothian.

The focus was to provide a beautiful, fully accessible and welcoming setting. Based on research and our experience on other healthcare projects, we created a variety of spaces allowing for a wide range of activities that support residents’ wellbeing. All the spaces are inclusive and flexible to meet the needs of a variety of physical and mental health conditions.

The planting was carefully considered to explore the relationship between the residents and the plants and to reference local landscapes and flora. The space includes a woodland shaded area, sunny terrace with scented sensory planting, parkland with mounded perennial beds, growing area with raised planters and SUDS pond with native wildflower meadows.
